I'm trying to help a friend out on his web hoster. A domain is pointed from a registar to a hosting agents DNS servers, the DNS servers are correct, I checked. The host claims to have the proper entries in their DNS server.
If I set the nslookup server to the hosts main DNS server then query the domain name in question, I should get returned the IP from the hosters DNS, no matter if the registar DNS has fully propagated or not. In other words, if the hoster has DNS records correct I should never receive the following from nslookup > www.surprisewinner.com Server: ns1.skylap.com Address: 207.44.216.141#53 ** server can't find www.surprisewinner.com: SERVFAIL Correct?
