Use 'rpm -e' to remove the unused kernel RPMs installed by up2date. That
should remove the extraneous System.map, vmlinuz, vmlinux, module-info,
initrd and config files.

Find out all the kernel rpms you have installed using 'rpm -qa |grep kernel',
remove the ones you don't use. The rpm removal process should clean up the
grub.conf (menu.lst) file for you.

man rpm

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts
