The vision for Windows Update V5 is to provide an efficient and effective means to keep all Microsoft products secure and up to date with the latest patches, starting with Windows, Office, SQL, and Exchange.Actually the new .Net framework finally covers the dll hell problems i.e. you can multiple versions of a dll so the newest dll doesn't break an application.
looks like you'll *finally* be able to go to windowsupdate and actually update everything. Not windowsupdate for this and officeupdate for that, and technet for everything else..
My question is:
Lets say you had two versions of libmytestlib.so in /usr/lib and /usr/local/lib how do you tell it to pick up one particular library over another...
I presume LD_LIBRARY_PATH is parsed left to right but what happens when you want to explicitly assign individual libs ?
Ohh and BTW barefeet and a hot cow pat can be heaven on a cold morning.
