Gentoo or Slackware or <insert favorite linux distro here>, it's all
good. I'm just glad you were able to sort it out for the guy. BTW,
thanks for the info, disabling DRI =>seems<= to have solved an X server
crash that's been tormenting me for weeks now... or at least I hope it
has - there's been no crashes since then (almost an hour now ;-)).
