well, i did surgery on the foomatic ljet3.ppd.gz driver, to no avail. so, as a kind of experiment, i switched to the gimp print ljet3 driver. interestingly, the thing prints as i would like -- the right place on the page -- though of course considerably slower.
anyway, i think this will work, though i'd love to figure out how to fix the default driver as well. -- dep Writing takes no time.
