Hi, Tom:

I tried the variation of the mount command you suggested (below) and 
that produced the same output as if I had typed "mount --help."

I surmise the key to this problem is knowing what file system type 
YaST2 used to write to the floppy disk during the installation of SuSE 
7.2  This is a boot disk produced during the installation, and I think 
it also has the LILO configuration on it.  That's what I want to look 
at.  

I boot SuSE 7.2 from a floppy, not from LILO on the hard drive.  I want 
to set up LILO on the hard drive, and I want to use what's on the boot 
floppy for an example.
