Keep in mind that alot of the distros are starting to drift alot on what
they put where in the /etc hierarchy.  While saving /etc is good, you
may need to manually put things back in their places, since a blanket
copy could seriously break the entire new distro.  Hopefully the
recently released LSB-1.0 will prevent this in future releases.
