Hi, Mike:

I failed to word my query properly. Specifically, I was looking for
information on what to type at the "boot:" prompt when booting with a
rescue disk from the boxed set, in order to boot an already-installed
system. This could also be from a rescue disk made during the
installation.

I found the info in a book that came with the distribution (in this
case, SuSE 7.2 Pro). It seems you ignore (respond with 'cancel') the
prompt to install, and continue until you are asked which partition (of
the installed system) to boot.

I'm grateful for the info you sent. I had already looked at man
lilo.conf, but somehow missed the cue. I didn't think it applied.

That's the first time I've been mistaken this decade. <grin>

Thanks much.

Regards,

Glenn
