one of us doesn't understand the other...
currently the kernel prints out boot messages that are of a certain
'priority' or above. For example, the all too familiar MP3.com ad in reiserfs
is of 'priority' 6. By typing 'dmesg -n4' the kernel only prints messages of
priority 4 or less; 5 and higher would only show up in the logs and not on
the screen....
I have some particular messages I don't want displayed and I know that by
setting 'dmesg -n4' right before I execute that code, they won't be
displayed. But, I don't know what 'priority' to set it back to after
executing my code so that "normal" boot messages resume from then on..
