Hi list!
I'm running SuSE 7.2 Pro from a box set.
I'm having some problems with the cursor and highlighting in StarOffice 5.2
and wordperfect 8, but not with KDE editors like kword, kwrite, kedit, or
X-base editors like emacs, Xedit, or pico.
The blinking cursor is not visible and when I try to click/drag a section of
text, the otherwise highlighted section is not visible at all, just white
space. Also, the highlighting is not easily undone by moving to some other
place in the text body and clicking (this is the particularly harmful
effect). Often the highlighted text must be deleted and then "undone".
SuSE tech support has been absolutely silent on this for over a week; I think
they're hoping I'll go away.
Others on the SuSE list do not have this problem. I've reinstalled cleanly
with no custom stuff a couple times just as a test, but the problem remains:
just Star Office and wordperfect. Sounds like some kind of X11 problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
