Here's a question for all you X experts. We use Linux as
Workstations and Unix for servers here at work. For remote
xterm-ing, there are two different scenarios:
1. rsh server xterm (assuming DISPLAY is set properly on
server user account to point to the workstation)
2. xterm -e rlogin server (xterm is local Linux)
What exactly would be happening in each case? In case 1, is
that sending all X info over the wire, creating a bigger
network load than 2? What about server (CPU, memory) load? I
would guess 2 would be less taxing to the server than 1. Would
it really matter being it's only an xterm?
