Regarding internet connectivity at the elementary school I took a look at the
listed ranges on Linksys's wireless devices: (eg.
http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?prid=157&grid=19)
Apparently they can still manage 1 megabit connectivity at a distance of 1/2
kilometer.... and as you get closer the speed should increase. Of course
this wireless gear ain't exactly cheap.
