It helped! Thanks.
I had to change a couple things, but it was a vast improvement over the 
config file I built alone. I ended up needing to compile plug and play into 
the kernel as opposed to as a module in order for my NIC (SMC Ultra, ISA) to 
come up properly. One or two other minor changes, but you provided a good 
base.
