I don't think so.  Where I work, we ssh to a production enviroment to
admin solaris based hosts.  The Pix firewall inbetween doesn't feel good
unless it reboots itself at least once a day.  Consequently we have taken
to using screen as you can reconnect to the multiple ssh sessions on the
remote host during the perfunctory pix process and progran purge process.

Screen seems to be included on most linux distributions lately.
