My root directory is on my scsi sda4, and my lilo.conf looks like 
yours except for the root = /dev/sda4.  At least I now know what the 
"804" means.  Thanks.
So now I just need to know why the filesystem won't mount.  I'm not 
sure it's a lilo problem.
