Hi Ted, Try this, which is from a post on the kde-linux mail list and is something I've gotta do to try to fix some KDE flakiness on my system: From run level 3 1. Copy your ~/.kde2 directory to a safe place. 2. Delete the original directory (or you can mv instead of cp). 3. Delete the dhcop files in your home directory. (I assume all the .DCOP files, too) 4. Clear out the /tmp directory. 5. Go to run level 5, start KDE as the user. After you do this you can copy selected files from the old .kde2 directory. Don't copy the whole directory. Just copy files such as bookmarks and <app>rc files.
