Do you have KDE2.2.1 from the Caldera RPMs? If so, you're most likely missing the kdesud daemon which was not included in the kdebase package from the Caldera RPMs. I compiled mine from the kdebase source, downloaded from ftp.kde.org. The procedure is something like: Download kdebase untar cd <directory the untarred source went to> make cp <path-to>/kdesud /opt/kde2/bin (as root) No need to 'make install' Guess I could write this down in all the gory detail and submit it as a StepXStep... Then again, I should probly wait 'til KDE2.2.2 comes out to see if it's still required.
