I've never run into problems. The (relatively) new feature in recent 2.4.x kernels for uniproc APIC allows for fairly reliable management of devices that share an IRQ. On 2 of my boxes (that happen to be virtually identical HW wise) I have three IRQs that are being shared (9, 10 & 11) with no noticable performance problems. ===== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lonni J.
