Well, inspired by recent posts, I got and installed xine. Seems to work. Wasn't easy to install (elusive libs) and I had to upgrade my video driver (which worked, now that I know how to load modules manually!!) and all seems well. However, I can't find much documentation on how to actually use it, with all its fancy graphical but puzzling controls. If anyone knows of a guide to using the xine gui, please let me know. Thanks.
