Well for about IEŁ600 (~US$700) you cauld get a handyscope, which is 2 x 25
Mhz channels with storage, combining to give a single 50Mhz channel (That's
50 Mhz on a single sweep - no aliasing). This thing substitutes a IEŁ2000 or
so 'scope, a IEŁ5000 spectrum analyser and a IEŁ2000 data logger. It has
unfortunately a very low top voltage The program options include multimeter
and Spectrum Analyser.. For about IEŁ2200 (US$2500). you can get a full
featured scope on a isa or pci card without this limitation, the equivelant
of a 'scope beyond the range where I bother looking :-(.
I already have the PB10 Eprom programmer - $110, and it does all standard
Eproms, microcontrollers, and a bit more. That's an isa card. There are cheap
Logic analysers, but I intend to go for one that lives with overvoltage, as I
don't want it to spend it's life on my "IN" tray :-(.
The version of the handyscope I had (It died when it was struck internally by
lightning - DC Drive inline inductor, a s/c, and a blown fuse gave it BIG
sparks) used Dos. Some have a windows version for the GUI and 'cos people
have forgotten what DOS is.

ISA SLOTS. Also, it may house a new m/b with pci slots. No more of this
farting around with pcmcia (People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms)
cards

I may have bigger promlems than that...
