Joel:

On my 98se, either:

Click on the "START" button  (lower left corner)
Click on "Programs" (near the top of the pop-up list)
Click on  "MS-DOS prompt" (on the new slide-out list)

To get back to Windoze, type EXIT at the DOS prompt (and hit enter)

Else
Click on the *Start" button (same place)
Click on the "Shut Down"  (at the bottom of the pop-up list)
When the "Shut Down" window appears,
Click on the "Restart on MS-DOS mode" button

Again, just type EXIT at the MS-DOS prompt to return to the usual (and that 
is the blue screen of death, too often.)
