I am using a 2.4.5 kernel patched for win4lin. The LVM HOWTO calls for 2.4.9. kernels and earlier to be patched. I get real use out of win4lin (gotta be able to run word and excel and nlreg, and my wife uses it for AOL when her windows box goes down) and it is working perfectly, at this time. I just don't want to have to patch my already patched kernel, since it was a bear getting everything on win4lin working right (networking, printing) and I have found that it is really easy to break win4lin.
