Dave I notice that your computers clock is running in advance of the correct 
time by a lot.

Here is how to fix it;

Go to the file /etc/conf.d/clock.

Set the CLOCK to UTC if you are only running Linux, or local if you are dual 
booting with Windows.

Set TIMEZONE to Pacific/Auckland

Set CLOCK_SYSTOHC to yes if you want to set the hardware clock to the system 
time at shutdown.

To start with you may have to manually adjust you bios clock to the correct 
time.

Hint: A good way to keep your computer clock accurate is to install Net Time 
Protocol tools and synchronise your computer clock with a net time protocol 
server.
