A good a place as any to say Hi!

My name is Chris. I've been in hospitality management in Christchurch
for a while and am a long time hobbyist (and list reader, though
seldom posts). I attended a gentoo installfest a while back - I think
I was maybe 20 or so at the time.

Anyway now I'm 26, and looking for work in IT, preferably something
with linux or at least an OSS bent. I have a cover letter at
jandaltech.com/cv-cover.txt if anyone's hiring?? I'm sorry to plug - I
already have a comfortable amount of communication open with
employers. My main point though is I plan on being more active in
technology and development in Christchurch, I'm under 30 and have no
aversion to this meatspace you speak of. I have a bike which is
perfect for Christchurch meetups right now given the roads...

I've always been working at times when meetups have been suggested
(jazz club hours at work), although I did make it to a Twisted Hop
friday once, and with my newly open schedule am very keen to come
along and get involved!

Brief background: I prefer Debian for servers, Mint for ya Mum's PC,
get along with Mac just fine, and run CTKArchLive on my netbook. I
haven't ever spent more than a hundred dollars on a graphics card. My
general passion is streamlining system through interface to keep
things snappy as possible, while ultimately usable.

So barring unforeseeable employment or natural disaster in the future,
consider me confirmed to the next meatware integration.

Think of the environment - please print this email. Buying more paper
means the forestry industry will plant more trees.
