Hello All,

Just to keep things on topic - everything listed below has served me well in the now distant past running various Linux distros, up to and including SUSE 10.1, but since then 11.x and now 12.1 have come along, and so has less ancient hardware.

Two olde PCs free to good home - these are truly ancient, but from quickly connecting them both to a keyboard and monitor, they appear to be running all right (first impression anyway, the run the POST and the BIOS set-up all right. No guarantees though...).

1. Desktope case with PSU, AMD Athlon 1 GHz with something like 256 MB or 512 MB RAM, MoBo has 1 x EISA slot, 5 x PCI, and AGP.

2. Desktop case with PSU, Pentium III 500 MHz, 256 MB RAM, all PCI I believe.

Neither of them have on-board graphics or hard disks, both have some kind of USB (might be 1.x), and both have on-board sound, printer and dual serial ports, and obviously PS2 kbd & mouse ports.

And then there are a few other bits:

* One oldish (slow) external SCSI CD writer with built-in PSU, state unknown, caddy included.

* 2 older ATAPI CD-ROM drives, one of them Sony, both state unknown.

* Some S3 PCI graphics cards, state unknown.

All as is where is, pick-up South New Brighton, or alternatively I can take the smaller bits (not the PCs!) to work on Print Place / Middleton.

Available until end of this week, and then they'll go the way of all old computers, which is to Molten Media.

Contact me off list if you are interested.

Kind regards,

Helmut.
