If I understand your question properly, my current cutter is a 
(very) old Mimaki CG-50 driven through its Centronics parallel 
printer port.  Its adequate for the "simple sign man" stuff I do, 
and less frustrating than the Rabbit/Artcut combo I used in a 
previous role.

For historic reasons I get materials from Vinylsource who sell Avery and GMI 
vinyls.

Thanks for the tip.  I'll have a look at it.  I've resurrected my 
Centro after a my Android phone died.
