Hi Folks, A bit off topic, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I do a fair bit of support work for a charity in town, and we could really do with someone far more up to date with Microsoft ( and Android ) products / practices than myself, but has basic knowledge / interest in things open source.
Although the desktops are Windows, the infrastructure is pure linux, with plenty of KVM virtualisation, encryption, proxying, samba, MySQL, nginx, OpenWRT etc... so there's plenty to be learned in exchange. Currently on debian squeeze so you get to enjoy the pain of upgrading to wheezy as well... There is some money available, but don't expect a lot. And, of course, the opportunity to work with one of the grumpiest BOFHs around! Will suit student/grad/etc, but good communication skills and reliability are of paramount importance. Due to the nature of the work done by the charity, a police check will be required. Drop me a line offlist if you're interested. Cheers, Steve Did I oversell it? They are a great bunch, and it is a very worthwhile cause (: -- Steve Holdoway BSc(Hons) MIITP http://www.greengecko.co.nz Linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/in/steveholdoway Skype: sholdowa _______________________________________________ Linux-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.canterbury.ac.nz/mailman/listinfo/linux-users
