Hi All,

That idea would be great for newbies too. I Have had several employers who fund these sorts of events, and from my own perspective find that this really helps getting focused on the job at hand as well as getting a handle on the nature of the job (and people) at hand.

The human factor also helps a great deal in even at least getting the right mindset for working on a new system, and helps a great deal in keeping motivated. This was always a case with the Amiga community, as those systems were such a dog to use, but with the different perspectives of other users, and at times encouragement, support and ideas; usually it was possible to find a way through the technical jumble of using those machines.

Regarding venues, There a 2 possibilities I can put forward;

"The Peg" in Belfast; Usually heaps of space (tables) available. Regulars are usually there in the afternoons only.

"The Speights Ale house" (Tower Junction) Very busy usually. Atmosphere seems quite professional though.

Not to forget the various Churches around, usually with good sized halls that lie idle most of the time.

Just 2 cents worth, but hopefully good ideas.

Cheers,

Peter
