A warning about this laptop and any similar with AMD E2-9000e processor and Radeon R2 GPU.
I entered a world of pain installing Mint 18.3 on this laptop. TLDR; You must add amd_iommu=off to kernel commandline during install and thereafter, or you'll regret it (its absence results in corrupt filesystems). (At least with kernels < 4.15, not sure >= 4.15) There are other problems with graphics, wifi, sd-card reader Details here https://bigblen.wordpress.com/2018/02/25/hp-245-g6-laptop-linux-multiple-problems/ Any insights gratefully received here, or on the abovelinked blog post. -- Eliot _______________________________________________ Linux-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.canterbury.ac.nz/mailman/listinfo/linux-users
