Hi Steve,

sorry to hear about health and energy - all the best for improvements in that
regard!

(U)EFI dual boot can become tricky with some combinations. Which Windows
version do you have?
And can you still boot the Linux system?

Why does the error message read "Failed to load image \EFI\ubunti\grubx64.efi:
Volume Corrupt"?
More specifically, is it really meant to be "ubunti", as opposed to "ubuntu"? I
am not a Ubuntu
expert by any measure, but doesn't this look odd?

I am afraid I don't have a straight and proven solution to this issue, but
maybe some pointers,
and you may already be aware of these points, but just to cover some
work-arounds:

* If you can still boot the Linux system you should be able to mount the
Windows partition to
get your data.
* If you can't boot your Linux system directly from the HD you may still be
able to boot from
external storage (e.g., USB pen drive) and start the Linux system on your HD
from there. Or at
least you could get access to both Linux and Windows data via booting from USB
storage.
* How much work would it be to re-install both systems? I appreciate you are
not keen on that.
When I had a stuck system that I could not get back to booting Windows after
three attempts of
running different flavours of Windows repair, I have copied off all data via
USB boot, and then
reinstalled both systems. If the systems include a lot of customisation and
installed software,
that may end up taking much time, though...

Besides these generic points, I have noticed some problems with UEFI
dual-booting Linux/Windows
a few months ago, and I have since been unable to boot the Windows 7 system. I
ended up
re-installing both OpenSUSE Linux Leap 15.2 and Windows 7, however I still
haven't been able to
get the Windows 7 part of the affair to boot. But the symptoms here are
different from yours -
my Windows goes BSOD when booting; Windows Safe Mode does not help either in my
case.

Kind regards,

Helmut.
