Lovely to meet you all at the meetup and thanks Chris for wide-ranging and
fascinating talk.
I volunteered to present a talk at the next meetup and thought I could do
something about Universal Blue (https://universal-blue.org/), a Fedora
Silverblue based distro where the base system is built in much the same way as
you would construct a Docker image. I've been using it for quite a while now on
my personal laptops. Would there be any interest in that?
Alternatively, I could do something about setting up a home server using NixOS
and Tailscale.
Rik suggested I introduce myself to the group given that I'm new here. I've
been using Linux personally and professionally since the mid 90's and remember
buying Redhat 4.1 in a box (many 3.5" floppies). These days I'm a Go, Python,
Rust and JavaScript developer at work (mostly on Linux), and somehow still
manage to find time and energy to do more development and Linux tinkering in my
spare time, usually at the expense of sleep. I'm not a Chch native, having
arrived here about 9 years ago.
Cheers,
Menno
