To tell the truth, I don't care about technical details. If the
same functionality is achieved, any implementation will be OK.
I will agree with "luit" way if it is included into xterm source
tree and called from xterm automatically or compiled into xterm binary.
How about
tar xzvf xterm.tar.gz
cd xterm
./configure --enable-wide-chars --with-luit
make
and then
LANG=zh_TW.Big5 ./xterm -> Big5
LANG=ko_KR.UTF-8 ./xterm -> UTF-8
