on the topic of general purpose console unicode:

After reading the libiiimf website propaganda
at http://www.li18nux.org/subgroups/im/IIIMF/ ,
I got the sources, and found something missing: IIIMGCF
the "IIIM Generic C client Framework (libiiimf)"

Its not overwhelmingly clear if this framework
would be appropriate for use inside of console applications
as such, allthough the iterm description seems to
indicate such.

After looking into several alternatives (such as MIM)
it seems clear that there currently is no general
purpose input method engine free of Window system
or application specificity. And the iiimf version of
such seems to be described but not implemented...

Does anyone know what/how iterm would use iiimf?
