Vertical Mongolian will have to be supported in the long run, because:

- There are 2 million people speaking Mongolian in Mongolia, and
  4 million people speaking Mongolian in China.

- Both communities use vertical writing.

- Cyrillic writing is only used for Mongolian in Mongolia. At school
  they learn both scripts. The important documents are in vertical
  writing, though.
