I have Slackware 9.1 installed, and I'm using mk_MK.UTF-8 locale.
I've been playing with UTF-8 DNS names and I've created this DNS name:
    "ÐÐÐÐÐÐÐÐÑÐÑÐ.ossm.org.mk" (meaning localization....)
There's also a site (http://ÐÐÐÐÐÐÐÐÑÐÑÐ.ossm.org.mk) that thrives to
unite macedonian l10n efforts.

Now I've been interested what tools do support UTF-8 DNS names. This is
what I've found:
BIND obviosly has no problems setting up the domain (9.2.2)
dig (versions 8.2, 9.1.x and 9.2.x) resolves ok
    host (unknown versions) resolves ok
Apache (1.3.27) has accepted the UTF-8 string in ServerAlias
and also when manually executed the HTTP method through nc it
        correctly "resolved" the virtual server.
ping, traceroute, telnet, nc, FireBird-0.7, Mozilla-1.4,
    konqueror-3.1.4 don't resolve the name.

Is it possible that I have a local problem with my resolver library or
this is a know failure.
Glibc is 2.3.2.
