Yes, Andries said that he'll not submit the patch because of the
problems he mentioned in his mail. But he at least answered in LKML
and give a response to Chris. I don't understand the lack of
interest :( of the rest of kernel and linux console developers in something
as important as adding complete utf-8 support...

I think that would be the way to go, mainly because of CJK that cannot
be represented on the console with the limitations of console fonts...
