I agree with Simos that it is a lot of work to understand all the linguistic 
issues
and also be a kernel hacker.  Finding all the right skills in one person is not 
really
necessary, since there are plenty of smart people interested in solving these 
issues.
Ideally, one would like to have a meeting to get all the right
people with all their diverse skills sitting down in one place for maybe two or 
three
days.  A sort of "Linux Console Development Retreat". Once the issues and 
direction
have been hashed out on blackboards and agreed upon by participants, it would 
be relatively
straightforward to focus on implementation.  Having a Console Retreate is 
probably not so easy to do in
reality, with developers scattered across the globe.  Any big corporate sponsors
listening?
