I get your Greek, no problem.

Let's try it again:

Εντάξει, λειτουργεί.
Entajei, leitoyrgei.

I generally have good luck with yahoo mail and utf-8, iff I pull down the
'Encoding' menu, and set it explicitly. The web mail page is frame based, and
very complex... Maybe they are not associating the character set with each
frame. Maybe the browser doesn't understand multiframe meta tags. Maybe the
transmission subsystem is corrupting it...

Let's see what comes back.

Thanks for the invite. I'll give it a try.

SuSE 9.2

No, I'm at the Uni right now on a Windows 98 PC, and I'm still looking for an
ISP for the Linux PC at home. Sorry :(

"Error activating XKB configuration.
 Probably internal X server problem.

 X server version data:
 The X.Org Foundation
 60801000

 If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
 - The result of xprop -root | grep XKB"

Here it is:

 _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc104", "us,el", "xfree86,", ""
 _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc104", "us,el", "xfree86", ""

 - The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/xkb

Here it is:

 layouts = [us  xfree86,el,ru]
 model = pc104
 overrideSettings = false
 options = []

Yes, I do it all the time... Once I fixed a concurrency problem with a remote
site using Microsoft Access from the public library with nothing else but
google and the error message. The girls were impressed.

"Fedora Core 3." Yes, I do, too.

(=Red Hat) but they want big bucks now. Maybe they work better than this free
stuff, but I'd be very unhappy shelling out $189 US and getting something as
bad as Fedora. Sorry, but it's true. I'm very unhappy with Fedora Open Office.
The fonts stink and the menus don't work in Greek.

SuSE 9.2 is working nicely now, on the GNOME desktop, thanks to your
suggestions.

Hey, that's great! Just what I've been looking/waiting for.
