Hi,

What encodings do Japanese users use for their C/C++/ObjC/Java
sources? Is it only the locale's encoding (EUC-JP or SJIS or UTF-8),
or do ISO-2022-JP encoded source files occur sometimes?

Can some Japanese users please tell us something about it? I'm asking
because I wish to know whether it's worth supporting stateful
encodings in the C preprocessor.

And if so,
   - How frequent are ISO-2022-JP encoded source (frequent, rare, very
     rare)?
   - What happens if the source contains ISO-2022-JP encoded strings
and they get output to a terminal emulator or display engine
which understands EUC-JP or SJIS only?
