In summary, the options so far -
(a) Keep it as it is, so that doubleclick, singleclick, middleclick
a non-ASCII word will send it through a spurious Latin1->UTF-8
conversion before getting pasted.
(b) Make it so that doubleclick, singleclick, middleclick on a word in
xterm will paste in correctly Latin1, but will mangle everything
else.
(c) Remove copying-to-cutbuffers support from xterm, just make it use
the clipboard instead. Interoperability with cutbuffer-only apps is
not worth it.
(d) Make xterm empty its cutbuffer when it loses the Primary selection.
We keep interoperability with cutbuffer-based apps, but lose the
ability to paste after the selection is blanked.
(e) Wait until September 15th.
I go with (e).
