I am an engineering student from India. I have taken up a small project on networking. I want to do it on linux platform. I need some technical information about my project. So if you could assist me then it would be a great help for me. The project detail is as follows.
In a network of autonomous computers(which have linux as operating system), I want to write a program in C such that it assists a user in front of any computer to capture the screen of any other computer connected in the network.
The main problem for me is that I don�t know how the information gets displayed on the screen in linux platform. If I can get the buffer containing the information being displayed on the screen, then it is easier to transfer that information over the network to any computer using socket programming. Linux does not support the accessing of vdu memory. I was also told that I need to go through curses library. But I don�t know how to proceed to access the information being displayed on the screen.
So I kindly request you to help me and give some technical details in this regard so that I can complete this project. I will be keenly waiting for your reply.
