   Have you taken a look at IIIM(Internet/Intranet Input Method) and IIIMF
(IIIM Framework)? Details are available at
<http://www.li18nux.org/subgroups/im>.  One of points in developing IIIM(P|F)
seems to be to overcome deficiencies of XIM protocol.

  It would be very nice to see this
fully supported by many  X11 programs asap so that I won't have to admit
that *multilingual* text input support in MS-Window 2k/XP is much better
than in Unix/X11  (yeah, IIIMF is not only for Unix/X11, but....)
