This package is heavily based on fonty package by Marcin 'Qrczak' Kowalczyk, with modified glyphs to have consistent typography for Basic Latin, Latin-1 Supplement, Latin Extended-A and most often used Cyrillic. Script for converting *.hex sources (from GNU Unifont) into *.sbf is included, so you can generate your own set of console fonts out of GNU Unifont (it does not look so good on console, though). Package builds fonts for most ISO-8859-* encodings, as well as for some cyrillic encodings. Adding new encodings or sets of charactes for unicode fonts is relatively easy.
Building process is a bit messy, but I wanted to do a release since these fonts were already sitting on my disk for some time, and I think users could benefit from them.
