I found partial answer to my question: "Logitech UVC cameras support streaming
of raw Bayer data through the use of UVC extension controls". Will this
mechanism work with non-Logitech UVC cameras?

Subject: [Linux-uvc-devel] Raw Bayer format

There was a few posts recently about receiving raw Bayer data from UVC camera.
I looked at "USB Device Class Definition for Video Devices: Uncompressed
Payload" document and it defines only 2 uncompressed formats: YUY2 and NV12.
None of them is a raw Bayer and I don't think you can convert any of them to
original Bayer values. Am I missing something?

Paul.
