udev is responsible for creating the device node. Have a look at the kernel log (dmesg). The driver should print something like uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device ProScope HR (19ab:1000) or uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device <unnamed> (046d:08c2)
