Sometimes Ekiga 2.0.7 can no longer show video output of my webcam Quickcam Fusion. When I then run luvcview I get this error message: Unable to set format: 5. Init v4L2 failed !! exit fatal
Only way I could my webcam working again was to reboot the whole computer. Luckily I found in this mailing-list that unplugging the USB cord of the webcam for a second resets the webcam. I also read that one can "call usb_reset_device()", but I can't find info on that. What command can I use in linux to reset my webcam (it would be faster than getting up and reaching behind my desk to unplug the usb cord)?
