I'm curious, where does Ekiga show "046d:08c9" ? The preference dialog should show "UVC Video Class device" for the Ultra Vision. > Is it possible to rename such a device through the linux-uvc driver to > instead read "Logitech Ultra Vision"? The driver uses the product name provided by the camera, or the harcoded string "UVC Video Class device" if the camera doesn't provide a product name. Logitech devices provide no product name, so I have no way to guess it. > If not, then how can one make this happen? I'm sorry this is not possible with Logitech devices, as they don't have string descriptors with the product name.
