I am assuming this is a V4L2 camera.
If you want it to work with kopete you have to recompile with a patch.
I have just been through the process and kopete works fine with my Fusion.

What version of EKIGA are you using? I started with 2.03 and got similar
results to you. Then got it to work with 2.04 and I am currently using 2.09.
The other thing I have discovered is that my Fusion will not work of my
2.0 hub(pain really as that is why I bought the hub). It only works off
the 2.0 port in the back of the computer.
