hi,
i have an acer 5102 wlmi laptop with orbicam webcam. i have (kx)ubuntu 7.02.
I had wondered if this webcam works on linux.
it has lsusb output as follows:
lsusb
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 5986:0100
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
after reading some posts on this mail group and some sites that some messages
refer, i got linux uvc sources from svn as explained in the messages and also
lucviev-20070512.tar.gz.
after compiling and installing uvc and also lucview as explained in the wiki
page,
i gave the comand ./lucview but it crushed. however i rebooted and tried again,
it just worked :)
which shows that linux uvc driver is supporting this webcam (Acer orbicam
coming with 5102wlmi laptops)..
now i have to find out how to make it working this webcam with other
programs....
