Hello, I recently bought a Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks for my girlfriend. On the wrapping there is the remark (c) Logitech 2007, hence I thought it would be the 2007 model which is stated on the web page. Unfortunately the usb-id is 046d:08dd and NOT 046d:0991. Obviously there are two different versions of this webcam. Please find the lsusb output attached to this mail.
Is there a chance that a slight modification will get the cam running? I am in a dilemma right now. My girlfriend departs in September for a stay abroad, and the webcam would be the only possibility for us to see one another. However, I could just buy a new camera, unfortunately the vendors and manufacturers keep silent about the usb-id or about which chips they use. Here is a link to a post from someone else with the same problem. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/12072 Best regards, Peter -- Psssst! Schon vom neuen GMX MultiMessenger gehört?
